How to check the status of your tax refund
| Instructions for checking the status of your refund are below. Follow the instructions or simply click the image to the right to link directly to the appropriate page. |
Federal:
- Go to www.irs.gov
- Click on the box on the left that says “Where’s My Refund.”
- Type in your Social Security Number, filing status and refund amount.

MD:
- Go to www.marylandtaxes.com
- Click on the box in the left hand column that says “refund status.”
- Type in Social Security Number, refund amount and last name.
Or
- Call the refund hotline 410.260.7701

DC:
- Go to www.cfo.dc.gov
- Click on “Taxpayer Service Center.”
- Under “Information” click on “Refund Status.”
- Type in your Social Security Number and the refund amount.

VA:
- Go to www.tax.virginia.gov
- Under “Individuals” click “Where’s My Refund.”
- Type in your Social Security Number and your expected refund.
