Born and raised in the suburbs of Boston, Mike earned his BA from the University of Massachusetts. After a short career in law enforcement at the United States Department of State, Mike got his calling to be a TAXMAN. He began at Tax-Masters working behind the scenes, collating, answering phones, and doing general administrative duties. After only one year, Mike was ready for more. He jumped head first into tax returns and hasn't looked back. About three years ago Mike became the Director of Operations and with a seamless transition began moving Tax-Masters, Inc. into a new era. Under his leadership, Tax-Masters has began to offer a much wider array of services including full time bookkeeping services, financial planning, and a the office became a full service IRS/State Tax Representation department. Tax-Masters has also seen some physical changes under Mike's tenure as Director, such as the expansion of our office space to include another office located adjacent to our main location on Executive Blvd, as well as a complete renovation and update to the main offices.
Still offering the same, close client relationships Tax-Masters has always had, Mike emphasizes to his consultants the importance of building trust and honesty with the clients. To Mike, trust is paramount in any business relationship, and that is why he prides himself on having the most honest, caring, knowledgeable, and trustworthy staff in the area. No other staff can even begin to compare to that which Mike has the honor of working with every day of the year.
In October of 2006, Mike was honored by the Washington Blade as their 2006 Business Person of the Year for his work with the LGBT community. This was a particularly high honor because the readership selected the recipients.
Mike has been working with same sex couples for some time now helping them take full advantage of the tax laws since many of them are denied certain rights under the current federal tax code. With careful planning Mike has saved several of his same sex couples a great deal of tax dollars. Mike makes sure all of his clients; regardless of age, race, nationality, color, gender, or sexual orientation; are afforded every right under the existing tax law.
In November of 2006, Mike enrolled in the CSA or Certified Senior Advisor program and passed his exam with flying colors. Now a CSA, Mike can better serve our clients who are senior citizens who typically have differing tax and financial needs from our clients who are not seniors quite yet. Mike called the CSA program an enlightening and exciting program which he is delighted to be a part of. The CSA designation is only awarded currently to about 13,000 professionals in North America and we are honored to have a CSA on our staff. |
