How to check the status of your tax refund

Instructions for checking the status of your refund are below. Follow the instructions or simply click the image to the right to link directly to the appropriate page.

Federal:

1.Go to www.irs.gov

2.Click on the box on the left that says “Where’s My Refund.”

3.Type in your Social Security Number, filing status and refund amount.

MD:

1.Go to www.marylandtaxes.com

2.Click on the box in the left hand column that says “refund status.”

3.Type in Social Security Number, refund amount and last name.

DC:

1.Go to www.cfo.dc.gov

2.Click on “Taxpayer Service Center.”

3.Under “Information” click on “Refund Status.”

4.Type in your Social Security Number and the refund amount.

VA:

1.Go to www.tax.virginia.gov

2.Under “Individuals” click “Where’s My Refund.”

3.Type in your Social Security Number and your expected refund.
